Applied Forensics
Kathleen is certified by the American Board of Forensic Document Examiners (ABFDE). She has been employed by Applied Forensics, a state of the art forensic document laboratory, since December 2007. She has the expertise to conduct a wide range of forensic document examinations and expert testimony relating to handwriting, hand printing, and numerals; indented, altered, erased or obliterated writing; typewriting, rubber stamps, notary seals, check writers, printing processes and other mechanical impressions; and other aspects of forensic document examination. Kathleen works only cases that are civil or administrative in nature
Kathleen is employed full time as a Forensic Document Examiner for the past 18 years with a major Federal Government agency where she conducts varied questioned document examinations of hundreds of cases involving thousands of comparisons. Typical evidence examined includes: threatening letters to US government officials and their families; checks; diaries; notes, written correspondence, identity and travel documents; credit cards and receipts, etc. Kathleen is an instructor/lecturer on questioned document examination both domestically and internationally to varied audiences including her peers; federal, state and local law enforcement; Assistant United States Attorneys; foreign government officials; as well as to the general public.
